2012 Gala Winners
Each year the Springville Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to honor one Outstanding Citizen of the Year, one Outstanding Business of the Year and one Outstanding Organization of the Year.  This year’s Awards Gala will be held Saturday, January 14th beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Springville VFD Hall on West Main Street.  Reserve your tickets online today!

The Chamber received many nominations this year from the community and will honor the following awardees:

1.  Citizen of the Year is awarded to James Oatman for his many years of dedicated service & leadership at the Volunteer Fire Company, Lions Club and the League for the Handicapped.  In addition, as a local businessman and owner of Smith- Weismantel Funeral Home, James Oatman has consistently and generously supported the fundraisers of our local non-profit organizations, sports teams, etc.

2.  Business of the Year is awarded to S&N/Eileen’s Greenhouse & Flower Shoppe, which celebrated its 50th year in business in 2011.  This family-owned business has deep roots in Springville and is a long-time supporter of the business community.  Their well-planned use of social media and monthly Facebook contests build and engage their customer base.  This is a great example for any small business to follow.

3.  Organization of the Year is awarded to The Springville Crossing Church for quietly putting their love for the Springville community into action.  The Crossing’s “Care Crew” was a dependable presence all year long working throughout the village, picking up trash on Springville’s streets and parks, trimming back weeds, watering plants, baking cookies and providing volunteer help at many functions.

The Awards Gala will feature a variety of hors d’oeuvres and dessert stations, wine & beer.  Following the awards, Comedian Jeff Allen takes the stage for a hilarious and inspirational show.  Jeff has been a featured performer on Comedy Central, VH-1, Showtime, TBN, and CBN.  He performed for George W. Bush’s 2005 Inaugural and is headlining the “Apostles of Comedy” tour.

Tickets are $40/single, $75/couple and can be purchased at Cattaraugus County Bank, Community Bank, M&T Bank, Rhapsody’s, Springville Hardware and the Chamber Office.
