Welcome to Springville

With it's historical heritage and quality of life the Village of Springville is one of the best kept secrets in Western New York. The Village is located in southern Erie County among the foothills of the Allegany Mountains and at the western end of beautiful Zoar Valley. Because it is also at the juncture of Routes 219 and 39, Springville is a short scenic drive to all of the area's cultural and athletic events.

The Village of Springville is located within the Town of Concord. Springville is the principal community within the town and a major business location in southern Erie County. The Village was incorporated in 1834.

The Springville Academy, opening in 1830, became the first high school in Erie County. It was given its current name, Springville Griffith Institute, in 1867 to honor a donor. The Dygert Farm on Elk Street was the site of the first Erie County Fair.

Springville is home to five National Register of Historic Places-listed (NRHP) buildings (Citizens National Bank; Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railroad Station; Baptist Church of Springville; United States Post Office; Scoby Power Plant and Dam) and the NRHP-listed East Main-Mechanic Streets Historic District.

Come and visit Springville, we are sure that you won't be disappointed!!

PLEASE NOTE: The Chamber has temporarily moved our office from North Buffalo Street to the R.A. Mercer Office at 243 West Main Street, # 2, in the Village. Our mailing address (P.O. Box 310) and phone number will remain the same during this temporary move.

Ducky Derby

Once again this year, Springville is going to the ducks – plastic ducks that is – when the Springville Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC) holds its annual Ducky Derby on Saturday, June 1st at 6:00 p.m.

This quacktacular race is one of the fun feature events of the WNY Dairy/Agricultural Festival and captivates crowds who gather to watch hundreds of brightly colored rubber duckies race for glory (and great prizes!) down Spring Brook.

Tickets are now being sold at Crosby's Mart, My Best Friend's Closet, the Springville Journal, Springville Hardware/Homewear, Tops Market, Ponderosa, Community Bank, Cattaraugus Co. Bank (CCB), and Witter-Davis Furniture. You may, of course, also stop by the Chamber Office at 243 Main St. to purchase tickets.

All of our members have tickets, too, so look through the directory! Tickets will continue to be sold throughout the month and at our booth during the WNY Dairy/Ag Fest Friday evening, May 31st, and all day Saturday, June 1st.

Ducks are being sold at $5 each or 3 for $10. The first 20 ducks to cross the finish line will win some great prizes including $300 Chamber Bucks, Gift Certificates, and more! It's sure to be thrilling--don't miss out!
